01 — Product Overview

Overview

AOD9604 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region (residues 177–191) of human growth hormone (hGH), with an added N-terminal tyrosine. This fragment reproduces the lipolytic (fat-metabolising) domain of hGH without the full sequence needed for its growth-promoting activity. It is supplied as a stable lyophilized peptide.

In research it is studied as a tool for examining fat metabolism separately from the growth and IGF-1 effects of intact growth hormone, with a focus on lipolysis and fat oxidation in adipose models. Its literature is smaller than that of the incretin peptides. It is offered strictly as a research material, and the studies cited below describe preclinical and analytical findings only.

02 — Mechanisms of Interest

Mechanisms of interest in research

hGH lipolytic-domain activity

Preclinical / in-vitro

The 177–191 region of growth hormone carries much of the hormone’s fat-metabolising activity. AOD9604 isolates this region and is studied for stimulating lipolysis and fat oxidation while, unlike intact hGH, having little effect on the GH/IGF-1 growth axis in model systems.

Adipose metabolism independent of β3-adrenoceptors

Preclinical / in-vitro

In rodent studies AOD9604 has been associated with reduced fat mass and increased fat oxidation; notably, this effect persisted in animals lacking the β3-adrenergic receptor, indicating the fragment does not act solely through that pathway.

04 — Selected Research

Selected Research

The following peer-reviewed studies are provided for scientific context on this compound’s research background. They describe preclinical and in-vitro findings only and are not claims about this product.

In obese mice, AOD9604 reduced body weight and fat mass over 14 days and acutely increased fat oxidation; the effect persisted in β3-adrenoceptor knockout mice, indicating it is not mediated solely through that receptor.

An analytical study characterised a stable serum metabolite of AOD9604 that persists longer than the parent peptide, of interest for detection methods.
