01 — Product Overview

Overview

GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide agonist of the ghrelin / growth-hormone-secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a). It belongs to the growth-hormone-releasing peptide family and is supplied as a stable lyophilized peptide.

In research it is studied as a potent stimulus of growth-hormone (GH) release acting through the ghrelin-receptor pathway, distinct from and additive to GHRH. Because it produces a large, reproducible GH response, it has also been examined as a diagnostic probe of pituitary GH reserve. It is offered strictly as a research material, and the study cited below describes clinical-pharmacology findings only.

02 — Mechanisms of Interest

Mechanisms of interest in research

Ghrelin / GHS-R1a receptor agonism

Preclinical / in-vitro

Like other growth-hormone-releasing peptides, GHRP-2 activates the GHS-R1a receptor to trigger GH release from the pituitary, acting at a site distinct from the GHRH receptor and often synergistically with GHRH in model systems.

GH-axis probing and diagnostic use

Preclinical / in-vitro

Because GHRP-2 evokes a strong, consistent rise in circulating GH, it has been characterised as a provocative agent for assessing pituitary GH reserve, with the magnitude of the GH response differing between healthy and GH-deficient states.

04 — Selected Research

Selected Research

The following peer-reviewed studies are provided for scientific context on this compound’s research background. They describe preclinical and in-vitro findings only and are not claims about this product.

A pharmacology review reports that pralmorelin markedly raises plasma GH in healthy subjects but produces a smaller response in GH-deficient patients, supporting its use to distinguish the two at a defined GH-peak threshold.
