Overview

Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44) stabilised by an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl group that resists enzymatic degradation. It is supplied as a stable lyophilized peptide.

As a GHRH-receptor agonist it is studied for its ability to stimulate endogenous, pulsatile GH release and the downstream IGF-1 response, and much of its literature concerns effects on visceral-adipose tissue and related metabolic endpoints.
